Choreographing the Sound of Tayar band

This project is a unique collaboration that merges the vibrant energy of indie rock music with the expressive power of contemporary dance. In partnership with movement artist and choreographer Anas Nahleh, we are creating a choreographic work for the Jordanian band Tayar – تيّار. Based in Amman, Tayar is known for its distinctive sound that blends elements of rock and indie rock, paired with deeply expressive lyrics that resonate with universal themes. This project aims to bring Tayar’s music to life through movement, creating a powerful synthesis of sound and dance that amplifies the emotional depth of the band’s work.

Artistic Approach
Our choreographic approach will involve a deep engagement with Tayar’s music, analyzing the rhythms, melodies, and lyrical content to create movements that are both intuitive and reflective of the band’s style. The choreography will not only mirror the music but will also introduce new interpretations, adding layers of meaning and emotion. The dance pieces will be designed to be performed live, either alongside the band during concerts or as standalone performances that integrate Tayar’s recorded music.
