Time Out of Time: A Special Place

“Time Out of Time: A Special Place” is a groundbreaking transdisciplinary project that brings together diverse artistic disciplines to create a unique live performance. Supported by Al Mawreed Al-Thaqafi, this production residency united the talents of French sound artist François Donato, French/Iranian visual artist Golnaz Behrouznia, and five Jordan-based performers. The project transcends traditional boundaries, blending dance, performance, visual arts, animation, projection, coding, and more, to craft an immersive experience that challenges and redefines genre conventions.

Overview

“Time Out of Time: A Special Place” is an in-progress, 30-minute live performance that was first presented to an audience in Amman, Jordan, on August 25, 2019, as part of the INTERNATIONAL DANCE ENCOUNTER AMMAN (IDEA) festival. The performance is the result of an intensive production residency where artists from different disciplines and cultural backgrounds collaborated to explore new artistic expressions. This project serves as a living laboratory of creativity, where the fusion of sound, visuals, and movement creates a unique narrative that is both abstract and deeply resonant.
